Being punched in the face isn’t fun. Training in M.M.A isn’t fun. It’s rewarding but not fun. So although many people  found 26yr old Frankie Perez’s retirement after 2 fights weird, it’s understandable to us. The lightweight fighter decided to call it quits after his first and only UFC victory.  I guess he wanted to go out on top. He has fought in the UFC only once prior which resulted in a loss. Don’t get it twisted though he has been at this for awhile and has a record of 10-2. Now that he is on the big stage with the UFC people would expect him to shoot for the top but he has other plans.

“Me being at 26, man, this was my first win in the UFC and my last. I’m done after this, man. I brought my dreams to come true, and I’m ready for the next chapter in my life. I’m done putting my family and body through all this.” – Frankie Perez

You have to respect the man’s decision, he made it to the UFC and decided to bow out. I would hate to play checkers with him…dude I would want my rematch.
