50 Cent has been having a tough legal year. There seems to be a new headline everyday involving lawsuits, bankruptcy, and beef. This time the rapper is being taken to court by a man who claims the hit show Power is his idea! TMZ is reporting that Larry Johnson claims he wrote a manuscript, “Tribulation of a Ghetto Kid,” and in 2005, sent it to Nikki Turner, who works for 50 at G-Unit Books. He says the book was eventually published elsewhere, but believes Nikki showed the manuscript to 50. Johnson goes on to claim that when he watched the Starz network debut of “Power” in 2014 it was a complete knockoff. Right down to the main character “Ghost”, which also happens to be Johnson’s pen name. Johnson is seeking $200 million to ease his feeling and coat his pockets. Let’s see how this one plays out in the courts. So far 50 has been coming out on the losing end in these legal battles. Hopefully the get rich or die trying rapper doesn’t die poor, after becoming rich, due to all these lawsuits.
