Check Out This Foldable Bulletproof Shield

This foldable bulletproof shield was created by Brigham Young University engineering professors. It could one day help protect cops against handgun fire. How does it stop bullets? It’s made with 12 layers of bulletproof Kevlar. The barrier successfully stopped bullets from 9 mm, .357 Magnum, and .44 Magnum handguns. Current shields are heavy and burdensome and typically weigh about 90 pounds. BYU’s shield weighs only 55 pounds, it expands in just 5 seconds and the shield can cover up to 3 people. The origami shape also protects officers from the sides. For now, the shield is still a prototype but has received praise from law enforcement.
