High Flying Horrer: Cirque du Soleil Aerialist Dies After Fall During Show

 

Yann Arnaud, an aerialist with Cirque du Soleil for over 15 years, died Saturday night during a performance of the show “Volta” in Tampa, Florida, People magazine reports. In a statement, Cirque du Soleil said, “It is with immense sadness that Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group reports that a tragic accident occurred last night, March 17, during a performance of its show Volta, in Tampa, Florida,” confirming Arnaud fell to the stage around 10 p.m. while performing with aerial straps. Arnaud is said to have “lost control of his grip” and fallen “a dozen or so feet.” Two scheduled “Volta” performances have been canceled.
