Edit – Turns out tapping an alligators snout triggers it to open its mouth/bite. While trying to get an alligator to bite seems counter-intuitive, most trapper do it after they’ve tapped the mouth and before they try to move it in order to make absolutely certain the tape will hold. While alligators don’t have a lot of strength when it comes to opening their jaws, many trappers feel being safe is better than being sorry. However this guy still got chin checked.
