The Sedan test (July 6, 1962) was conducted as part of Project Plowshare which promoted peaceful uses of atomic bombs. Whatever that means. It’s yield was 104 kilotons, 5 times the size of the bomb which leveled Nagasaki. The bomb was exploded 636 ft below the desert’s surface creating a huge bulge and ensuing dust storm.
