SIT TO STAND – DEATH TEST
Personally I want my death to be a complete surprise and to come while i’m having an amazing dream. The reality may not be so sweet but let’s not get to depressed because you may have 30 or even 60 more years ahead of you. Obviously no test can predict random events like falling down a uncovered manhole ( I wonder how often that happens) but we do know how to sort of gauge how healthy you are.
It’s called the sitting-rising test, all you do is stand up, sit down, then stand up again. Simple right, well if your healthy it is. Not if your 5 minutes away from croaking though. Start standing, then cross your legs. Then squat until you’re seated on the ground, trying not to use your hands for help or falling onto your knees. Give yourself 10 points before you start, then deduct one point every time you use a hand or knee to support you, and take away a half point every time you lose your balance.
The European Journal of Cardiology states that if your score is a three or below, you are 500% more likely to die in the next six years than if you scored above an eight. Give it a whirl and see what you came up with.
Since I had a ton of Jack Daniels last night I’m gonna pass on taking this test and just enjoy whatever little time I do have left. Here is a demonstration on how to take the actual test below:
