How Halo Changed the Game
Halo isn’t your father’s Super Mario Bros. When Microsoft decided to enter the console wars with the Xbox, they needed a guardian angel. Instead they got a Halo. For those that have never played the game:
Halo is a military science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise created by Bungie and now managed and developed by 343 Industries, a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios.
It’s a community game and one that changed gaming forever. There were multiplayer games that existed prior, sure. But Halo started this whole idea of hey we’re going to get eight people together then we’re going to have a Halo fest at night. It was a gaming phenomenon and you can see how it all happened in the video below:
