I love food but I wouldn’t call myself a foodie. I’m not out there searching for exotic foods to test my intestine; I stick to the basics. There are some people who love food entirely too much. So much that they even came up with the following food mashups. Below we have five food mashups that I would have to pass on, but somebody out there is indulging in them as you read this. Check it out below:
Double Donut Burger
Yep, combining donuts (which I love) with burgers (which I also love) is a thing that the Hungry Horse pub restaurants in the UK are serving (source). Truth is, I love all the ingredients but I love them separately. I would feel like a serious glutton eating this, but no judgement whatsoever.
Cap’n Crunch Delights
Would you eat deep fried Cap’n Crunch balls loaded with cream? Taco Bell is hoping so. The company is testing the donut holes at stores in Bakersfield, California. If the tests are successful, the donuts will hit Taco Bell stores nationwide. I can’t lie because this actually sounds like a great idea to me. I love sweets and I am going to have to approve of this combo. Would you try it? ( source )
The Waffle Taco
The waffle taco is not really a stretch of the imagination and I could definitely indulge in this one too. Guess who came up with this little mash up, Taco Bell strikes again of course. Those innovators over at the bell are always pushing the boundaries on what our stomachs can take. Could you see yourself shoveling this down for breakfast? ( source )
“Buffalo Crunch” Donut
This one is a definite no no in my book but Tim Hortons is betting on the idea. The donut consists of a pull-apart yeast that’s dunked in Buffalo sauce and crusted with crushed-up chips. The corn-chip strips in the center are decorative and the donut comes in mild and hot varieties – mild is “toned down” with Ranch dressing. I can’t see buffalo wing inspired donuts being popular but then again you never know. Would you give this one a shot? ( source )
Mac ‘n Cheese Big Daddy Patty Melt
This one is for those big dogs. The Mac ‘n Cheese Big Daddy Patty Melt consisted of “a hand-pressed beef patty topped with new creamy Mac ‘n Cheese, melted cheddar cheese and zesty Frisco sauce on grilled potato bread.” If you are trying to get your calorie count up then this would have been a go to sandwich with over 1690 calories and 99 grams of fat. Denny’s had this available for awhile but not any longer. Probably due to the amount of heart attacks suffered by those indulging in this burger. ( source )
So those are the 5 unusual food mashups that sound interesting but are definitely not for healthy eating. Plus i’m pretty certain they all would wreck havoc on your bowel movements.
